Andreas Caminada

'All of the gastronomy industry can profit from this symposium. It is interesting to get to know other chefs- their work, their kitchen, their traditions. Passing this knowledge on through is valuable for the whole industry.'

The Swiss ambassador for ChefAlps is none other than Andreas Caminada. At the age of only 33, he had already earned in an incredible manner all the important awards of the sector: three Michelin stars and 19 GaultMillau points – and he has been able to maintain this high level to this day. Aged 26, Andreas Caminada took over as a tenant and chef de cuisine at the historical castle restaurant Schloss Schauenstein in Fürstenau in the canton of Grison, and achieved unparalleled success. Guests who come here must have reserved months in advance. His success is based on a brilliant and creative cuisine, for which he always combines two to three products, leaving them as natural as possible: ‘My concern is the tension in a dish, and the celebration of details, not because I absolutely want to serve something more, but because it is my pleasure’. Thanks to his sympathetic attitude and his ingenuity, he is not only highly regarded by his guests, but also considered a model by his professional colleagues. We therefore very much appreciate that Andreas Caminada is our Swiss ambassador of ChefAlps!
