Since 2011, the Michelin Guide in Austria has ceased to rate chefs (excluding in Vienna and Salzburg).

With Thomas Dorfer from Austria, another exceptional talent from the international cookery scene assists ChefAlps as an ambassador. Two Michelin stars (2010)*, three toques and 18 GaultMillau points crown the career of the 41-year-old chef. ‘A contemporary, creative cuisine, prepared with the best products, is modern enough’, is his provocative credo. Born in Kärnten, he was still young when he collected first prizes at cookery championships, and he perfected his skills during stays in renowned establishments from Australia to St. Moritz. At the renowned ‘Bocuse d’Or’, he was already an international sensation back in 2005, with an excellent sixth rank. In 2009, GaultMillau voted him Chef of the year. Gastronomic critics describe his style as ‘distinctively ingenious’, and follow with great interest his career at the Landhaus Bacher restaurant.
As the co-founder, together with Heinz Reitbauer and Andreas Döllerer, of the Cookery Campus Austria, the three chefs pursue the goal of enhancing the individuality of Austria, with its products and regions, and its uniqueness, on an international level!
